This is part 1 of a 10 part guide for installing, configuring and setting up MediaPortal to use as a dedicated computer media center (HTPC).

This part is dedicated to preparing Windows XP with the expectation that it will be used as a dedicated media server (HTPC) with client installed on top. We will go through and remove / uninstall most things that are not needed in Windows XP.
